NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at the Centre over the three farm laws passed by Parliament and said that his party will throw them in the waste paper basket if it comes to power.
Rahul led a tractor rally in Punjab’s Moga on Sunday to protest against the Centre’s new farm laws.
Addressing a rally, the Congress leader asked what was the reason to implement the laws during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“If you had to implement you should’ve discussed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The PM says the laws are being framed for farmers. If it’s the case, why didn’t you discuss openly in the House,” he asked.
Gandhi vowed that the Congress will scrap the “black laws” the day it comes to power.
“I give you guarantee that the day Congress party come to the power, we will scrap these three black laws and throw them in waste paper basket,” he said.
