No less than 29 individuals aboard three vessels which went adrift because of cyclone Tauktae within the Arabian sea had been rescued collectively by the Mumbai Police, CISF and Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders close to Angre jetty right here on Tuesday, officers mentioned.
All of the three vessels- two of them fishing boats- went adrift within the sea after their anchors broke within the cyclone they mentioned.
MV Saraswati and MV Kajal with 22 individuals on board went adrift close to Mazagaon Dock Restricted (MDL), an official mentioned.
MV Saraswati is a transport survey boat of the Central authorities, he mentioned.
Each the boats- every with 11 individuals on board- had been introduced safely to the shore by officers of the police, Central Industrial Safety Drive (CISF) and the MDL, he mentioned.
Round 3.30 pm on Tuesday, seven members aboard one other vessel MV Preetisagar had been rescued in time, the official mentioned, including the boat was about to sink as its anchor was damaged.
Officers of the Anti-Terrorism Cell (ATC) had been current on the shore in Sewree in Mumbai in the course of the rescue operation and nothing suspicious was reported, the official added.
